Why my VA rates are £40 an hour - and why they’re worth every penny.
If you’ve been researching Virtual Assistants, you’ve probably noticed something: prices are all over the place. Some VAs charge £25 an hour, others £50+. As of 2025, the national average rate for UK VAs is around £35 an hour. So why do I charge £40?
Simple: because what we offer isn’t just admin. It’s specialist medical admin. As well as looking after your clients, we look after you.
Before launching Circuit Assist, I spent over a decade in the NHS mainly as an Intensive Care Nurse. Those years taught me precision, professionalism, and the ability to stay calm while juggling about seventeen things at once. Combine that with more than ten years in business administration and you’ve got someone who doesn’t just ‘do tasks’; I manage complex systems, understand clinical priorities, and work to professional standards that many general VAs don’t need to meet.
I’m also not the sort of VA who needs endless explanations. When I say I understand things like GDPR, data confidentiality, or patient communication, I really do. I’ve lived it. That means less time spent training me - and more time saved for you.
What you actually get for £40 an hour
You get the reassurance that your practice or business admin is handled by someone who already speaks your professional language. Whether it’s managing client bookings in Cliniko, handling correspondence, or keeping your email from becoming a black hole of chaos, I’ve got it covered.
I also bring the kind of judgement that only experience gives you - knowing when something needs your input and when it doesn’t. My job is to protect your time, your headspace, and your business reputation.
When you hire a Specialist VA, you’re not just paying for time. You’re paying for peace of mind.
The real value?
I know £40 might sound more than average, but ‘average’ isn’t what you’re looking for. You need someone who gets healthcare admin inside out, can handle the unexpected, and keeps your systems running smoothly while you focus on clients or patients.
It’s not just about keeping your diary tidy - to me that’s the absolute basic of what I can do. Its primary school level - it’s about keeping your business healthy.
So yes, my rate is above average, because my business is which only transfers to you and the service you receive.
